On Thursday, an American base in the Koniko gas field in northern Deir ez-Zur, Syria, was hit by rockets fired by the Iranian-backed Iraqi resistance.
Local media sources reported that a US base in the Koniko gas field, north of Deir ez-Zur, was targeted with rocket strikes. Additionally, another US base in the Al-Omar oil field, east of Deir ez-Zur, was also hit.
In response, the international coalition forces targeted the sources of the rocket launches that targeted the Koniko base, according to the sources.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced that it had targeted the Koniko gas processing plant base with a rocket barrage earlier in the day.
Attacks on US bases in Syria and Iraq have been ongoing and escalating in the region for nearly two months, coinciding with the start of the Israeli war and airstrikes in Gaza.
