Qatar has pledged to provide $50 million as an initial humanitarian aid package aimed at refugees, internally displaced persons, the wounded, orphans, and those affected by the Israeli occupation’s aggression in the Gaza Strip.
According to Qatar’s news agency “QNA,” Qatar will also grant 100 scholarships to young Palestinians through the “Fakhoura” program, which is part of the “Education Above All” foundation.
Earlier, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, reaffirmed that Doha would continue to transfer funds to Gaza and support it.
Al Khalifa stated in his remarks on Monday that Qatar’s mission is to provide continuous assistance and support to our Palestinian brothers and that they have no intention of changing that.
He emphasized Qatar’s systematic commitment to this cause, as it has done in the past.
The Israeli occupation’s aggression on the Gaza Strip has entered its 68th day, during which the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” has been targeting the invading army’s ranks and inflicting significant losses upon it.
Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, launched the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation on October 7th in response to the Israeli occupation’s violations in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In return, the Israeli occupation launched a military operation against the Gaza Strip called “Operation Iron Swords” and carried out a series of intense airstrikes on several areas in the enclave.
The Gaza Ministry of Health reported an increase in the number of martyrs since the beginning of the conflict to 18,608, including 7,739 children and 4,885 women, with more than 50,594 injuries.
On the other hand, the Israeli occupation announced the killing of approximately 1,200 settlers and soldiers, while the Israeli army acknowledged the deaths of 444 officers and soldiers since October 7th.
