Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed readiness on Friday to mediate between Israel and Iran, suggesting that finding a compromise is possible, though challenging. His comments come amid concerns over the potential escalation of hostilities between the two countries.
Speaking to reporters, Putin highlighted Russia’s ongoing communication with both Israel and Iran, noting that these relationships are based on mutual trust. “We are in contact with Israel and with Iran. We have relationships built on trust, and we would very much like to see the ongoing exchange of strikes come to an end at some point,” he stated. He emphasized the goal of finding solutions that would satisfy both sides.
Putin added that the key lies in seeking compromises, and while such compromises might be difficult, he believes they are achievable. He also mentioned that Russia is prepared to participate in discussions between Iran and Israel, should both parties show interest in pursuing dialogue.
