As Kylian Mbappé gears up to depart as a free agent, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is on the lookout for a replacement, eyeing Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as a potential candidate.
According to Le Parisien, PSG has been actively engaging in discussions for Kvaratskhelia, with negotiations showing positive developments recently.
Napoli has set a price tag of €80 million for the player and is also scouting for a replacement.
However, with another key player, Victor Osimhen, likely to exit Napoli this summer, the club’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, is keen on retaining Kvaratskhelia.
Efforts are underway to persuade him to commit long-term, including a proposed salary increase to extend his contract.
De Laurentiis is not inclined to sell, indicating that a significant premium would be required for his release.
Barcelona is also showing interest in Kvaratskhelia, driven by manager Xavi Hernandez’s desire to strengthen his squad with a dynamic winger for the left flank.
This season, the 23-year-old has been impressive for Napoli, participating in 42 matches, netting 10 goals, and providing nine assists, thereby boosting his market value significantly.
Mbappé recently confirmed that he will leave PSG at the end of the season, with Real Madrid expected to be his next destination.
“I wanted to announce to you all that it’s my last year at Paris Saint-Germain. I will not extend and the adventure will come to an end in a few weeks,” Mbappe said in a video posted on social media.
