As clashes persist in the cities of Khartoum, a significant gathering of political entities is anticipated in the Ethiopian capital to deliberate on strategies to halt the warfare plaguing Sudan.

From a political standpoint, Taha Othman, head of the Central Council of the Forces for Freedom and Change, emphasized the necessity for an inclusive political endeavor encompassing all political, civil, and armed factions, with the goal of forging a resolution that ensures the establishment of a professional and national army under unified leadership, spanning armed forces, rapid support units, and armed insurgent factions.

Regarding the trajectory of negotiations between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Youssef Ezzat, the political advisor of the RSF, conveyed in statements to the press their willingness to engage in dialogue aimed at a leadership transformation within the army, ultimately forming a new unified military body that incorporates all armed factions, including the RSF. This transformation, however, should avoid undue influence by any particular party or ideology.

Furthermore, the coalition of civil political forces, signatories of the political framework agreement, is set to convene tomorrow, Monday, in the capital city of Addis Ababa.

The gathering aims to deliberate on pathways to terminate the ongoing conflict and to emphasize the urgent necessity for a comprehensive humanitarian response.
