Saudi Arabian media reports revealed today, Tuesday, that Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a star of Marseille in France, has reached an agreement with his new club in the Saudi Professional League.
The Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is currently under contract with Marseille until June 2026.
Saudi newspaper Al Riyadhiah confirmed that officials from Al Shabab Saudi Club are nearing an agreement with the global Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who plays for Marseille in France.
The Gabonese star joined Marseille last summer for a three-year deal until 2026 as a free transfer, following the end of his contract with English side Chelsea, and having represented clubs such as Barcelona in Spain, where he won the La Liga title in the 2023 season.
Al Riyadhiah added that Al Shabab club officials have reached a preliminary agreement with Aubameyang and are looking to finalize the deal in the coming days, preferring him over Spanish player Alvaro Morata, who also participated in Euro 2024, and British player Che Adams.
Al Shabab will need to negotiate with Marseille to purchase the 34-year-old’s contract, as he is currently tied to his club until the summer of 2026.
It is expected that Al Shabab will finalize the deal soon, at a time when Portuguese coach Vitor Pereira has officially decided to part ways with Senegalese international Habib Diallo, either by selling his contract or loaning him out due to his declining performance levels last season.
Last summer, Al Shabab signed the Senegalese striker for the next three seasons, paying him a substantial salary of 6 million euros annually, in addition to other financial incentives included in the contract between the parties.
