The US Defense Department announced that Northrop Grumman Systems, based in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, has been granted a $265 million contract enhancement to continue providing engineering support for the Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) program.

This modification to a previously existing agreement covers sustaining engineering and logistics support for G/ATOR, including engineering alterations, contractor logistics, and depot lifecycle support.

Additionally, the contract will facilitate the upgrade of six Gallium Arsenide G/ATOR systems to gallium nitrite technology, purchases of operational spares, software development for existing and forthcoming radar systems, and adaptations for the 5G spectrum.

The completion of this 22-month project is anticipated by 28 September 2025.

In a separate development, Lockheed Martin was awarded a nearly $200 million contract by the US Army for industrial engineering services related to the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) munitions programs.

“Lockheed Martin Corp., Grand Prairie, Texas, was awarded a $199,154,320 hybrid… contract for industrial engineering services for the Multiple Launch Rocket System Family of Munitions programs,” the release said on Monday.

The contract will also include the manufacture of spare and repair parts, contractor logistics support, and test article refurbishment, the Defense Department said.

Work on the contract will be performed in Roanoke, Virginia, over the next five years and is expected to be completed in November 2028.

“The companies included] AIC International [of] Agat, Guam; Environet [of] Kamuela, Hawaii; Fargo Pacific [of] Tamuning, Guam; InfraTech International [of] Harmon, Guam [and] Modern International [of] Barrigada, Guam,” the Defense Department said in a press release on Monday.
