Italian media reported that French national team and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been suspended for four years for violating anti-doping regulations, following the Italian prosecutor’s request for his suspension. Pogba was provisionally suspended in September after testing positive for a banned substance.
Pogba started his career at US Roissy-en-Brie, later moving to US Torcy and eventually joining the prestigious Le Havre club. Pogba’s talent was evident early on, leading to his move to Manchester United’s youth program in 2009.
Pogba’s time at Manchester United initially saw him struggling for first-team opportunities under Sir Alex Ferguson, leading to his move to Juventus in 2012, where his career truly took off. At Juventus, Pogba became a key player, winning multiple Serie A titles and playing a crucial role in the team’s runs in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.
Pogba’s success at Juventus earned him a return to Manchester United in 2016 for a then-record transfer fee. Despite winning the EFL Cup and UEFA Europa League in his first season back, Pogba’s second stint at United was marked by inconsistent performances and managerial changes, which did not allow him to live up to the high expectations.
On the international stage, Pogba has been a standout player for France, winning the FIFA U-20 World Cup and playing a key role in France’s 2018 FIFA World Cup victory. His performances have earned him numerous individual accolades, including the 2013 Golden Boy award and the 2014 FIFA World Cup Best Young Player award.
