On Thursday, Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah welcomed Iranian Ambassador to Libya Einollah Souri at his office in Tripoli to discuss avenues of cooperation between the two countries.
According to the media office of the Unity Government, the Iranian ambassador expressed Iran’s desire to hold the 13th session of the Libyan-Iranian Joint Committee in the capital, Tehran, and to organize an economic exhibition showcasing Iranian industries in Libya.
Additionally, discussions revolved around cooperation in nuclear medicine and various other medical fields.
The media office further stated that Dbeibah expressed readiness to collaborate with Iran in various sectors and to coordinate the convening of the Libyan-Iranian Joint Committee.
Libya and Iran have maintained diplomatic relations for decades. Despite the geographical distance, both countries have found common ground in various fields, including economic cooperation and cultural exchange.
Iran has expressed interest in deepening ties with Libya, particularly in economic and medical sectors, while Libya seeks to diversify its international partnerships to enhance its economic development and technological capabilities.
