Members of the High Council of State, including former President Khalid Al-Mishri, held discussions with the “Gathering of Misrata Representatives” regarding the political situation and the political deadlock in Libya.

The primary focus of these talks was the formation of a new technocratic government to pave the way for upcoming elections.

Abu Al-Qasim Qazit, a member of the High Council of State and the coordinator of the “Gathering of Misrata Representatives,” confirmed the meeting’s occurrence.

It took place in Misrata and was attended by Vice President of the Council, Omar Al-Obaidi, along with members Fathallah Al-Sudairi, Safwan Al-Mousawi, Adel Karmous, Khalid Al-Nazouri, and Khalid Al-Mishri. The discussions revolved around the current political deadlock and the necessity of holding parliamentary and presidential elections.

Qazit emphasized that the meeting also addressed the formation of a new technocratic government as a crucial step towards preparing for the upcoming elections.

He noted that the members of the High Council of State have accepted invitations to visit the “February 17 Reform and Anti-Corruption Movement” and the “National Activities Misrata” in order to engage in consultations with national forces.

These forces have announced their presence in Misrata to coordinate national efforts.

In recent days, the “Gathering of Misrata Representatives” has held several meetings in the city, including a meeting with the United Nations envoy Abdullah Bathily.
