Lebanon’s Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, urged the United Nations on Thursday to take a firm stance against Israel’s “technological war” on Lebanon, ahead of a Security Council meeting discussing the recent explosions of devices used by Hezbollah. Mikati called on the UN to stop what he described as Israeli aggression.

Lebanon’s Health Minister Firass Abiad updated the death toll from the explosions, reporting that 37 people were killed and over 3,500 injured across Lebanon. The explosions, which occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday, involved hand-held devices used by Hezbollah members.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military reported striking six Hezbollah infrastructure sites and a weapons storage facility in southern Lebanon, raising fears of an escalating conflict. Two drones from Lebanon also crossed into Israeli territory on Thursday, sparking a fire near Beit Hillel but causing no injuries.
