Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to discuss the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East and the joint efforts to curb the escalating violence in the region.
The discussions took place on the sidelines of the 10th meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, where both leaders reviewed various aspects of bilateral cooperation and explored ways to enhance and strengthen their partnership.
According to a statement issued by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, the two officials expressed anticipation for the upcoming sixth round of the Strategic Dialogue between the United States and Kuwait, set to be hosted in Kuwait.
Secretary Blinken also reiterated the United States’ appreciation for Kuwait’s ongoing efforts in promoting peace and stability in the region.
In response, Minister Al-Yahya reaffirmed Kuwait’s pride in its strong and longstanding relationship with the United States, emphasising the deep historical ties that bind the two countries.
