Ukrainian authorities have reported a significant increase in Russian military aggression in the Kherson region.

According to Oleksandr Prokudin, the Governor of Ukraine’s Kherson region, the Russian military conducted 71 artillery strikes over the past 24 hours, resulting in one fatality and four injuries.

The Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform conveyed Prokudin’s statement, detailing the extensive use of mortars, artillery, Grad rockets, and drone attacks by Russian forces.

“In the last 24 hours, the Russians have launched 71 artillery strikes, deploying a total of 264 shells from a variety of weapons including mortars, artillery, and drones,” said Prokudin.

Prokudin also highlighted that the Russian army targeted residential areas across several towns and villages in the region, including an educational institution in Kherson.

This recent escalation marks a concerning increase in hostilities in the area, adding to the ongoing tensions and humanitarian concerns in Ukraine.
