In a recent phone call with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, King Abdullah II of Jordan expressed grave concerns regarding the escalating situation in the region, highlighting its potential to undermine international peace and security.

King Abdullah reiterated his urgent plea for the international community to intensify efforts aimed at securing an immediate and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza. He stressed the imperative of addressing the worsening humanitarian crisis in the area.

The monarch issued a stark warning about the perilous consequences of the recent Israeli Occupation attack on Rafah, emphasizing the need to safeguard civilians in Gaza and facilitate the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid.

Additionally, King Abdullah underscored the vital role of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in providing essential humanitarian assistance. He called for continued support for UNRWA to fulfill its mandate effectively and alleviate the suffering of Palestinian refugees.
