Jordan’s Prime Minister, Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh, emphasized the commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with Algeria and expanding cooperation and exchange across various sectors. This was stated during a meeting with the President of the Algerian National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Boughali, and his accompanying delegation at the Prime Minister’s office.
During the meeting, attended by the President of the Jordanian House of Representatives, Ahmed Al-Safadi, the State Minister for Prime Minister Affairs, Ibrahim Al-Jazi, and the Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, Hadeethah Al-Khraisha, both sides reaffirmed the strong historical brotherly relations between the two countries. They expressed mutual interest in further strengthening and developing these ties in all areas to serve both nations and peoples, aligning with the visions of their wise leaderships, King Abdullah II and President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The Jordanian Prime Minister requested Boughali to convey his greetings to his Algerian counterpart, Nadir Larbaoui, highlighting the importance of building on King Abdullah II’s visit to Algeria, which significantly boosted bilateral relations. This visit was followed by reciprocal visits by Jordanian and Algerian ministers and officials aiming to enhance bilateral relations and leverage their successful experiences in various fields.
Al-Khasawneh stressed the importance of close cooperation between the legislative institutions of both countries in promoting bilateral relations and benefiting from each other’s experiences to achieve common interests.
The Jordanian Prime Minister appreciated Algeria’s pioneering role in serving Arab causes, especially the Palestinian issue, and emphasized the aligned positions of both countries on the Palestinian cause and other issues of mutual interest.
Al-Khasawneh briefed Boughali on Jordan’s efforts, led by King Abdullah II, to halt the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, ensure the prompt and sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid, and move towards a political horizon leading to the realization of the two-state solution in accordance with international resolutions. This solution would guarantee the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In response, Boughali affirmed the deep-rooted brotherly and historical relations between Algeria and Jordan, reflected in their joint commitment to expanding cooperation in key sectors such as health, education, transportation, agriculture, and more.
Boughali highly valued Jordan’s stance, under King Abdullah II’s leadership, in serving Arab causes, notably the Palestinian issue, and its continuous efforts to cease the aggression on Gaza and vindicate the Palestinian people’s rights on their national territory.
Expressing pleasure in visiting Jordan, Boughali discussed mechanisms to broaden cooperation with the Jordanian House of Representatives and Senate and cooperation in higher education, agriculture, and other sectors.
The meeting was attended by the Algerian Ambassador to Jordan, Abdelkrim Boucheb, and members of the Algerian National People’s Assembly, according to a statement from the Jordanian Council of Ministers.
