Japan and China have donated a combined $2 million to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees. Japan gave $1 million to restore health services in the Jenin refugee camp, which was affected by an Israeli operation in July. The main health center there was severely damaged and is currently non-functional.
This aid will fund a temporary health center and mental support for the refugees. Japan’s Ambassador, Nakashima Yoichi, emphasized Japan’s solidarity with the affected Palestinians.
On the other hand, China contributed $1 million to support 5,300 Palestinian students in Gaza. China’s Ambassador, Zeng Jixin, praised UNRWA’s role over seven decades and reaffirmed China’s commitment to aiding the Palestinian cause, aligning with President Xi Jinping’s three-point plan towards resolving the Palestinian issue. China aims to collaborate globally for peace in the Middle East.
