The French Minister of Foreign Trade Olivier Becht said that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and France have a shared goal of accelerating the transition to green energy to counteract the increasing threats caused by global warming.

The two countries are collaborating on low-carbon energy solutions, and Becht expressed confidence in the UAE’s ability to host COP28 successfully in November at Expo City Dubai.

He also noted that the world recognizes the UAE’s leadership in climate change. Becht emphasized that the environmental challenges we face motivate us to take more courageous and committed actions to accelerate the energy transition.

The UAE and France have several joint projects in various fields, including hydrogen and nuclear energy, to generate clean energy, which is the future of the sector.

Becht added that the relations between the two countries are deeply rooted and that he plans to visit the UAE soon to discuss ways to enhance economic cooperation between the two nations further.
