Amid escalating tensions following the assassinations of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and Hezbollah military commander Fuad Shukr in southern Beirut, Israel targeted a car with a drone on Saturday on the Bazouriyeh road in southern Lebanon, according to reports.
The strikes have triggered a wave of retaliatory threats from Hezbollah.
Israel also conducted airstrikes on the town of Tayr Harfa and central Aita al-Shaab in southern Lebanon. In response, Hezbollah fired rockets toward western Galilee.
Additionally, an Israeli drone targeted a car on the Damascus-Beirut road near the Zabadani area, causing smoke plumes and resulting in the death of a person inside, as reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The Israeli army announced the killing of a Hezbollah member on the Bazouriyeh road. Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated on his X account that the Israeli air force killed Ali Nazih Abdul Ali, a central operative in Hezbollah’s southern front, on Saturday morning in the Bazouriyeh area of southern Lebanon.
