The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) reported on Saturday that Israel has reduced the so-called “humanitarian zone” in Gaza to just 11% of the territory, leading to widespread panic among displaced residents.

According to UNRWA, thousands of families in Gaza continue to be displaced as Israeli authorities issue new evacuation orders. The agency reiterated its call for an immediate cease-fire in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military recently ordered the evacuation of residents in central and southern Gaza, further shrinking the area designated as a “humanitarian zone.” UNRWA Communications Officer Louise Wateridge highlighted the dire situation on X, describing the scene as one of shattered homes and lives.

UNRWA previously reported that 84% of Gaza’s territory has been under evacuation orders since October 7. Despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire, Israel continues its offensive in Gaza, which has resulted in nearly 40,100 deaths and over 92,500 injuries, according to local health authorities.
