As the Israeli military continues its intense war on the Gaza Strip, with United Nations statistics indicating that 90% of the population has been internally displaced, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly working on a plan for the displacement of Gazans. In a closed parliamentary session of the ruling Likud party, Netanyahu mentioned his efforts to establish plans for the “voluntary migration” of Palestinians from Gaza to other countries, as reported by the Israeli newspaper “Israel Hayom” on Monday evening.

The main obstacle, as Netanyahu sees it, lies in finding countries willing to accept these refugees. He emphasized his active work towards resolving this issue. Likud party member Danny Danon stated that this issue is already being discussed globally. He mentioned Canadian Minister of Immigration Mark Miller and potential Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley as examples of public figures who have spoken about this issue.

Danon suggested forming an Israeli team to manage this matter, ensuring that anyone from Gaza wishing to move to a third country can do so. This plan, he believes, should be organized due to its strategic importance following the war.

Most Arab countries, the United States, and several European nations have voiced their opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

Since October 7, the Israeli military has waged a devastating war on Gaza, resulting in more than 20,000 deaths and approximately 55,000 injuries, mostly among children and women. This conflict has led to significant destruction of infrastructure and an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, with the United Nations declaring the Gaza Strip virtually uninhabitable. Despite this, hundreds of thousands of residents from the northern and central Gaza Strip have fled southwards to escape the bombing, although Israeli airstrikes and ground operations have also reached these areas of displacement, particularly affecting the cities of Khan Younis and Rafah.
