Lebanese media said that an Israeli spy balloon was targeted and shot down on the border in southern Lebanon.
This aggressive shelling coincides with the intense activity of Israeli reconnaissance aircraft patrolling the length of the southern Lebanese border.
In a related development, the areas stretching from Abbasiyah to Ghajar, as well as the outskirts of Halta and Kfarshouba, were bombarded with intensive Israeli airstrikes on Saturday night. Late into the night, Hezbollah announced it had targeted an Israeli military position within a house in the settlement of Metula.
In response, Israel conducted artillery shelling targeting the areas of Kafra and Talat el-Hammam. These developments mark Hezbollah’s involvement in the conflict that has been intensifying between Israel and Hamas, leading to daily exchanges of fire across the Lebanon-Israel border.
Hezbollah’s Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah, declared on Friday that “all options are on the table” concerning the party’s greater engagement in the conflict with Israel. This statement underscores the volatile situation and the possibility of a significant escalation in hostilities.
