Iraqi armed factions announced today (Sunday) that they targeted a ‘vital target’ in Eilat, southern Israel, using drones.

The “Islamic Resistance in Iraq” factions stated in a message on Telegram that the attack was in response to the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, which has been ongoing since October 7th.

They confirmed their continuation of such operations, according to the Arab World News Agency.

Earlier this month, Iraqi militias announced today that they successfully targeted the Haifa oil refinery using drone strikes.
This information was reported by the Al-Hadath news channel. The militias claim this attack is part of a broader campaign against Israeli interests in the region.

Earlier, the same factions declared they had targeted a strategic site in Eilat, Israel, also using drones. These incidents mark a significant escalation in the use of drone warfare by non-state actors in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, in eastern Lebanon, Israeli aircraft conducted multiple strikes on villages in the city of Baalbek.

According to Lebanese media, Israeli jets launched 14 missiles at various targets in the Bekaa Valley, causing substantial fires and explosions in the area.

Reports from Lebanese sources indicate that the Israeli airstrikes have resulted in large-scale destruction and significant fire outbreaks around Baalbek.

The bombardment targeted the hills and outskirts of Brital, intensifying the conflict in the region.

The use of drones in modern warfare has significantly increased, with various non-state actors adopting this technology for targeted strikes.

The ongoing conflict between Israel and militant groups in neighboring countries has seen frequent escalations, often resulting in civilian casualties and infrastructure damage.

The Haifa oil refinery is a critical infrastructure site for Israel, making it a high-value target for hostile entities.
