The Iraqi Parliament on Wednesday called on the government to accelerate the full implementation of the order to expel foreign forces, arguing that their presence threatens Iraq’s security, stability, and the safety of its citizens.

The parliament said that any delay in implementing the order would be a clear violation of legislation and the popular will, and that Iraq’s sovereignty and the blood of its people are red lines that cannot be crossed.

In a statement carried by the Iraqi channel “Sumaria News,” the parliament also condemned the US attack on security headquarters in Babylon and Anbar provinces, and strongly denounced the continued flagrant violation of Iraqi sovereignty and the lack of respect for international and bilateral treaties by the United States.

The parliament said that it supports the government’s decision to file a formal complaint with the United Nations Security Council regarding the repeated US violations of Iraqi territory.
