German Ambassador to Libya, Ralph Tarraf, has affirmed Germany’s readiness to provide full support to ensure the success of the political process and to meet the aspirations of the Libyan people by holding elections and achieving lasting peace and stability.

The new German Ambassador to Libya, Ralph Tarraf, pledged in a statement broadcast by Libyan Al-Wasat TV on Sunday, to work on strengthening German-Libyan cooperation.

He emphasized the necessity of unifying the military institution in the country and working towards achieving political stability and a peaceful transfer of power in Libya.

Recent relations between Libya and Germany have been focused on supporting Libya’s political stability and facilitating the electoral process. Germany has actively engaged with Libyan officials, emphasizing the importance of holding free and fair elections to achieve a peaceful transition of power. German diplomatic efforts include continued support for the “Berlin Process,” a framework designed to unify international efforts for peace in Libya.

The German government has reiterated its commitment to working closely with Libyan authorities to ensure the success of the political transition. Discussions between high-level officials from both countries have highlighted Germany’s role in supporting the unification of Libya’s military institutions and backing the efforts of the Libyan Presidential Council to stabilize the country.

Germany has also expressed concern over any actions that might destabilize ongoing political processes or delay the elections, reinforcing its stance that these elections are critical for Libya’s future. Additionally, Germany has been involved in discussions around humanitarian aid and reconstruction efforts in flood-affected areas in Libya, further strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
