German police conducted raids on homes in the capital, Berlin, on Monday in connection with the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.
The police announced on the social media platform X that five men are suspected of committing crimes motivated by pro-Palestinian sentiments.
A police spokeswoman confirmed that the operation is ongoing, with around 125 officers involved in the searches.
This follows a similar campaign carried out by German authorities last November, targeting individuals allegedly affiliated with the banned Hamas movement and the “Samidoun Prisoner Solidarity Network,” which supports Palestinian prisoners. According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, these groups, along with their sympathizers, are banned in Germany.
Germany had previously prohibited pro-Gaza demonstrations at the start of Israel’s “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, citing concerns over security amidst Israel’s war on Gaza.
