The Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip declared on Tuesday that the healthcare system in the region has completely collapsed due to the Israeli military campaign.

Speaking at a news conference in Gaza City, ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra revealed the severe impact of the conflict on the health infrastructure.

Al-Qudra reported that Israeli strikes since October 7 have resulted in the death of 65 medics, the destruction of 25 ambulances, and the forced closure of 12 hospitals and 32 healthcare centers.

The dire situation is exacerbated by a lack of fuel, raising concerns that more facilities will cease operations in the coming hours.

The death toll from ongoing Israeli airstrikes in Gaza has reached 5,791 people, with victims including 2,360 children, 1,292 women, and 295 elders. Injuries have been reported for 16,297 people.

Al-Qudra emphasized the disproportionate impact on vulnerable groups, noting that children, women, and elders make up approximately 70% of the victims.

Highlighting the humanitarian crisis, the spokesman mentioned that around 1,550 people, including 870 children, are reportedly trapped under the rubble.

Al-Qudra accused the Israeli occupation of committing massacres against Palestinian families, resulting in the deaths of 305 children, 173 women, and 78 elders.

The conflict, initiated by the Palestinian group Hamas with Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, has escalated with Israeli military operations under Operation Swords of Iron.

Since October 7, Gaza has been under continuous bombardment and a blockade, leading to a devastating toll on both Palestinian and Israeli lives, with nearly 7,200 people killed.
