The Palestinian Ministry of Health has confirmed that the death toll from the Israeli assault on Gaza has risen to 42,344, with 99,013 injuries since October 7 of last year, according to Cairo News.
At least 26 civilians were killed and dozens injured since midnight due to Israeli airstrikes targeting several areas in Gaza. In Khan Younis, 10 civilians were killed, with others injured or missing beneath the rubble after the Israeli military targeted the Abu Taimah family’s home in Bani Suheila, east of the city, according to WAFA News Agency.
Gaza’s humanitarian crisis continues to worsen, exacerbated by ongoing Israeli military operations. The conflict has led to the destruction of critical infrastructure, including homes, schools, and hospitals, and has left more than half of Gaza’s population reliant on international aid for survival. Over 90% of Gaza’s population faces severe food insecurity, and the health system is nearing collapse, with many hospitals running out of essential supplies.
The lack of access to basic necessities like food, water, and medicine, combined with electricity shortages, has led to catastrophic conditions for civilians, particularly children. Aid agencies are struggling to meet the overwhelming needs due to restricted access, and there are growing fears of disease outbreaks as sanitation deteriorates. International organizations continue to call for a ceasefire to allow humanitarian aid to reach those in need and prevent further loss of life.
