Transport Ministers from the G7 nations agreed to join forces and boost de-carbonization in the transportation sector by enhancing sustainable aviation fuel.
The ministers ended their two-day meeting in the central Japanese city of Shima on Sunday.
They released a joint statement called coordinating efforts in promoting the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), which is made from plants and waste oil.
In the same vein, the ministers urged to cut greenhouse gas emissions to less than half of the levels generated by conventional jet fuel.
Earlier on Saturday, the ministers as well as their Ukrainian counterpart touched upon ways to restore the war-torn nation.
The ministers also affirmed that they will consider setting up a working-level meeting to anchor supply chains after the Russian invasion caused disruptions on a global scale.
