The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on Israel today, Friday, to immediately cease its military operations in Rafah, Palestine, and return to the negotiation table, according to a breaking news report by Cairo News Channel.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported that in the last 24 hours, the Israeli occupation has committed six massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 39 deaths and 58 injuries. This brings the total casualties of the Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 7th to 34,943 deaths and 78,572 injuries.
The French government’s demand emphasizes the urgent need for a cessation of hostilities and a return to diplomatic efforts to resolve the ongoing conflict, highlighting the severe humanitarian impact of the military actions in Gaza.
Earlier this month, French President Emmanuel Macron called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday to resume negotiations with Hamas to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and release hostages held by the Palestinian movement, according to a statement from the Elysee Palace.
The French presidency noted that Macron “urged” Netanyahu “in a phone call” to “resume negotiations, which could lead to the release of hostages and the protection of civilians, through a ceasefire and regional de-escalation.”
The statement added that the French president “reminded us of our priority to release all hostages.”
