Flydubai, the renowned UAE-based airliner, unveiled plans on Thursday to broaden its footprint in Africa, increasing its destinations to 12. The expansion will see the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and Mombasa in Kenya, integrated into its escalating network.
As reported by the Emirati newspaper, Al-Bayan, Flydubai will initiate daily services to Cairo’s Sphinx International Airport, beginning on October 28th. The decision aligns with the surging demand for connectivity between Egypt and the UAE.
In an ambitious move, Flydubai aims to captivate the Egyptian market with a weekly offering of 17 flights, which will include its daily routes to Alexandria’s Borg El Arab International Airport.
Flydubai’s Chief Commercial Officer, Hamad Obaidullah, articulated his enthusiasm about launching services to Cairo. He underscored the airline’s dedication to fostering trade and tourism ties between nations, particularly highlighting the bond with Egypt. Obaidullah extended heartfelt thanks to the Egyptian officials for their unwavering support in materializing the flights to Sphinx International Airport. He further projected optimism for the intensification of these services in the upcoming years.
Sudeer Sreedharan, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at Flydubai, spotlighted the pivotal role Egypt plays in its market strategy. He assured travelers of an elevated onboard experience with Flydubai’s state-of-the-art Boeing 737 Max aircraft. Sreedharan accentuated that this route would mark the debut of these aircraft on this specific trajectory.
