The trade exchange between Egypt and Greece rose 4.7% in 2022 recording $2.2 billion against $2.1 billion in the same period of 2021.

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics said in a statement Thursday the Egyptian exports to Greece amounted $1.7 billion in 2022 against $1.6 billion in 2021 with a 5.3% rise.

According to the statement, Egyptian imports from Greece increased from 409.6 million dollars in 2021 to $418.6 million in 2022, recording a 2.2 percent increase.

The remittances of Egyptian expatriates in Greece reached $15.1 million in the fiscal year 2021/2022 compared to $10.1 million in fiscal year 2020/2021, while the remittances of Greek citizens working in Egypt increased from $3.4million to 5.1 million dollars in the fiscal year 2021/2022, the statement read.
These figures underline the dynamic and growing economic relationship between Egypt and Greece, with the upward trend expected to continue given the positive economic indicators from both countries. The mutual commitment to expanding trade and economic cooperation promises a robust partnership and stronger economic ties in the years to come.
