The Egyptian Minister of Military Production, Mohamed Salah El-Din, witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between Benha Electronics Industries and the Russian company “Victor” during the EDEX 2023 exhibition.
The Minister highlighted the agreement’s significance in advancing the ministry’s commitment to modernizing its manufacturing technologies in collaboration with global firms. He emphasized the ministry’s primary goal of meeting the various needs of the armed forces, including ammunition, weapons, and equipment. Moreover, he underlined the ministry’s focus on producing high-quality civilian products at competitive prices and contributing to various national and developmental projects serving citizens and adding value to the national economy.
Representatives from the Russian company “Victor” expressed their pleasure in collaborating with the Egyptian Ministry of Military Production through Benha Electronics Industries. They look forward to a strategic partnership beneficial to both sides. The Russian representatives also revealed their company’s display of advanced anti-drone military systems at EDEX 2023, marking their first participation in the exhibition.
Founded in 1908, “Victor” originally focused on mobile and stationary radio stations. By the 1920s and 1930s, it evolved into a significant radio engineering organization and is now a leader in advanced electronic systems manufacturing.
Mohamed Eid Bakr, the media advisor and official spokesperson for the Ministry of Military Production, stated that this cooperation agreement aligns with the ministry’s policy of collaborating with specialized global industrial companies. Minister Mohamed Salah emphasized the importance of leveraging Russian expertise in various military manufacturing areas, especially given the close cooperation and strong ties between the two countries.
“Victor” also showcased its advanced anti-drone military systems in Egypt for the first time at EDEX-2023. The sales director from “Rostec,” the parent company of “Victor,” expressed delight in participating in this military forum, showcasing effective anti-drone systems.
The Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX) is a biennial international defense exhibition held in Egypt. It showcases advancements in military technologies across air, land, and sea. The third edition of EDEX was scheduled to take place from December 4th to 7th, 2023, at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre (EIEC) in New Cairo.
EDEX is known for being the only defense and security event that covers both Africa and the Middle East, providing a unique opportunity for visitors to witness the latest technology, equipment, and systems. The 2023 edition was expected to feature over 400 exhibitors from 46 countries and include 22 country pavilions, with participation from nations such as Armenia, Brazil, China, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Italy, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America.
