Egypt Seeks to Import 50,000 Tonnes of Sugar

The General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), the governmental grain buyer in Egypt, has recently announced an international bid to import 50,000 tonnes of raw cane sugar. This is on behalf of the Egyptian Sugar and Integrated Industries Company.

The bidding process calls for comprehensive offers that include cost, insurance, and shipping for delivery between September 15 and 30, 2023, and/or October 1-15, and/or from October 16 to 31, as per the seller’s preference or for existing stock. The GASC reserves the right to choose.

Bids must be presented based on payment upon inspection in Egyptian pounds or US dollars, with priority given to payments in Egyptian pounds. The final date for bid submissions is July 29.
