Egyptian Parliament Speaker, Hanafy Gebaly, affirmed that Cairo remains committed to working with Libya to strengthen stability and support the country’s national institutions.
Speaking at the opening of the fifth legislative session, Gebaly emphasized Egypt’s ongoing efforts to reach a “Libyan-Libyan” political settlement without external pressure or interference.
On Monday, Egypt welcomed the agreement between Libya’s House of Representatives and High Council of State, brokered by the UN Support Mission in Libya, to resolve the Central Bank of Libya crisis. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed hope that this positive step would advance stability across Libya.
The ministry reiterated Egypt’s commitment to supporting these efforts, working in coordination with regional and international partners to safeguard the interests of the Libyan people and help them achieve their aspirations.
