Osama Hamad, the Prime Minister-designate of the Libyan House of Representatives, held discussions with Ahmed El-Sobki, the President of the Egyptian Healthcare Authority, to explore avenues for mutual cooperation aimed at enhancing healthcare in Libya through the exchange of international expertise and the utilization of scientific and practical experiences.
The discussions took place during the “Healthcare System Development in Libya” conference, which was endorsed by the Hamad government. Ahmed El-Sobki, the Egyptian official, is participating in this event, which seeks to improve healthcare in Libya and is titled “Towards Better Healthcare.”
The conference is being held in Benghazi and has drawn the participation of international experts in healthcare from various countries, including Egypt, Jordan, Japan, Italy, France, Germany, Malaysia, Russia, and the United States.
In earlier remarks, Prime Minister-designate Osama Hamad stated that his government, in collaboration with the General Command and the Reconstruction and Stability Committee, has taken on the responsibility of transforming the healthcare sector in Libya, addressing the challenges it faces.
This conference on healthcare system development in Libya aims to facilitate discussions on improving healthcare services and infrastructure in the country.
It has attracted experts and officials from local and international organizations, including UNICEF, the International Red Cross, the World Health Organization, and the United Nations Development Programme.
Egypt’s participation in these discussions highlights the commitment of both countries to working together to enhance healthcare services in Libya, promote collaboration, and tap into international expertise to address the healthcare needs of the Libyan population.
The discussions represent a significant step towards achieving better healthcare standards and access to quality medical services for the people of Libya, who have faced healthcare challenges in recent years due to the country’s complex political situation and security issues.
