On Monday, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, underlined the country’s eagerness to strengthen and deepen the strategic partnership with Greece, particularly in the face of unparalleled regional and international challenges.
These remarks came during a telephone conversation with Greece’s new Foreign Minister, Vassilis Kaskarelis.
During the talks, the two ministers touched on ways to enhance bilateral relations across diverse areas such as politics, economy, trade, and energy, aligning with the shared interests of both nations and their citizens.
Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesperson and Head of Public Diplomacy at Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the conversation is a testament to the ongoing consultations and close coordination between the two nations across various bilateral cooperation dossiers and regional issues, reflecting the exceptional relationship between Egypt and Greece.
At the outset of the call, Shoukry congratulated his Greek counterpart on assuming his new role, wishing him an abundance of success and accomplishment.
Abu Zeid added that the ministers also discussed the latest updates on several regional and international files of mutual concern, as well as emerging challenges.
They agreed on the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination to confront these shared challenges, aiming to protect both nations’ interests and promote stability in the critical region.
Conveying Greece’s viewpoint, Minister Kaskarelis expressed his country’s admiration for Egypt’s stance and efforts to bolster security and stability in the region.
