The Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, General Osama Rabie, reassured on Tuesday that navigation through the Suez Canal remains consistent, highlighting that the suspension of passage for some companies is a temporary measure.

General Rabie stated, “We will continue our efforts to engage with all clients and shipping lines to facilitate global trade movement.”

The Suez Canal, a vital maritime route, has been in the spotlight recently due to the temporary suspension of transit for certain vessels.

The Houthi rebels have periodically carried out attacks on shipping in the Red Sea. These attacks have taken various forms, including missile and drone strikes on ships, as well as naval mines placed in the waters.

The Red Sea is a critical maritime trade route, with a significant portion of the world’s goods passing through the Suez Canal and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden.

The international community, including the United Nations and maritime organizations, has expressed deep concern about the Houthi attacks in the Red Sea.
