Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi condemned Israeli human rights violations in Gaza and stressed the importance of reaching a ceasefire to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians.

He called on Europe to play a crucial role in encouraging the concerned parties to reach an agreement for stability in Gaza and beyond.

Sisi highlighted Egypt’s efforts, in cooperation with Qatar and the U.S., to engage positively with the Palestinians, including Hamas. However, he emphasized the need for Europe to push additional efforts to achieve these goals.

Terming the situation in Gaza as a “flagrant violation of human rights,” Sisi pointed out that over 40,000 people, mostly women and children, have been killed, and more than 100,000 injured in the ongoing conflict. He also noted the use of hunger as a weapon, challenging the credibility of human rights values.
