Chinese President Xi Jinping has reaffirmed his commitment to working with Egypt to achieve stability in the Middle East. During a meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, President Xi expressed China’s support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The meeting took place in Beijing’s Great Hall of the People and was attended by Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Transportation Kamel El-Wazir, and Egypt’s Ambassador to China, Assem Hanafi, among other high-ranking officials.

President Xi Jinping welcomed Prime Minister Madbouly and asked him to convey his greetings to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. He noted that Egypt is one of the largest Arab, Islamic, and African countries and highlighted the strategic partnership between the two nations.

Over the past decade, Egypt and China have enjoyed fruitful cooperation, particularly within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). President Xi Jinping commended Egypt for joining the BRICS group, a move that injects new dynamism into the international alliance.

President Xi further acknowledged Egypt’s significant progress in building the New Republic and reiterated China’s support for Egypt’s efforts to enhance their strategic relationship. China is keen on aligning Egypt’s development strategy with the goals and objectives of the Belt and Road Initiative.
China’s commitment to cooperation with Egypt spans multiple sectors, including infrastructure, energy, aviation, tourism, renewable energy, healthcare, and more. The Chinese President expressed his country’s openness to Egyptian products entering Chinese markets.

In terms of cultural cooperation, President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of expanding the teaching and dissemination of the Chinese language at the grassroots level.

On the economic and financial front, President Xi welcomed Egypt’s issuance of panda bonds in the Chinese market and pledged China’s support for Egypt in this regard. Additionally, the two nations agreed on a debt swap program to fund development projects in Egypt.

Regionally, President Xi Jinping expressed China’s interest in collaborating with Egypt to preserve stability in the Middle East amid current challenges. He highlighted the importance of achieving a ceasefire in Gaza and preventing the escalation of the ongoing conflict. China supports Egypt’s efforts to broker a ceasefire and facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid and relief materials into Gaza.

President Xi stressed that a comprehensive solution involves the implementation of a two-state solution, culminating in the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. He emphasized that the world is currently facing numerous challenges, and coordination is essential to safeguard the interests of developing countries and achieve stability in the region and the world.
