Egypt has set a new Guinness World Record for conducting early detection and treatment of various cancerous tumors, examining 3,860 citizens in 480 minutes at a rate of 8 screenings per minute.

The Ministries of Health and Population, and Social Solidarity in Egypt launched the “Early Safe” campaign in collaboration with the Egyptian Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology in nine governorates across the country for early detection and treatment of different cancerous tumors.

During the campaign, a new Guinness World Record was registered.

Breaking 5 Guinness World Records

Walid Osman, the adjudicator from Guinness World Records, announced a new record of conducting 8 screenings per minute for 5 types of cancer.

The Ministry of Health received certificates from Guinness World Records for breaking 5 records in early detection and treatment of cancerous diseases including lung, colon, breast, liver, and prostate cancers, making it the largest global institution to achieve records in cancer treatment.

This achievement coincides with the anniversary of the Presidential Initiative for Early Detection and Treatment of Cancerous Tumors in June 2023, which set a new record for the largest cancer awareness campaign in the world in the Guinness World Records.

Nevine El-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, announced the intensive campaign “Early Safe” targeting women starting from the age of 18, a free campaign under the auspices of the Ministries of Health and Population, and Social Solidarity in cooperation with the Egyptian Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of early detection, the goals of the campaign, and involved the participation of 6,000 social pioneers out of 15,000 from sustainable development, facilitating access to the best services for citizens and educating them through medical and social campaigns to ensure their health.
