In the past 24 hours, Bangladesh has recorded 2,711 new cases of dengue and 12 fatalities, bringing the total number of cases to 57,127 and the death toll to 273 since the beginning of this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The country has seen a total of 47,529 recoveries, with 2,638 new recoveries reported on Wednesday, as stated by Xinhua news agency, citing the DGHS.

Last month, Bangladesh experienced its highest surge in dengue cases with 43,854 new infections and 204 deaths, as reported by the DGHS.

The period from June to September, during the monsoon season, is known to be the peak season for dengue fever in Bangladesh, which is considered a high-risk nation vulnerable to mosquito-borne diseases.
