Ishaq Malwa Jamus, Governor of Chad’s Ennedi Est province, lauded the rapid efforts of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in distributing food aid and addressing the needs of Sudanese refugees and the local communities.
The actions taken reflect the unwavering commitment of UAE’s humanitarian entities to ensure assistance reaches those in need.
The UAE humanitarian team, presently stationed in Amdjarass city in Chad, continues to assess the requirements of Sudanese refugees and the local community through on-ground visits. They are keen on gaining firsthand knowledge of the living conditions and making sure that basic needs are met.
The team on the ground in Chad, comprised of the UAE Red Crescent, the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Humanitarian Foundation, has initiated the distribution of food parcels to Sudanese refugees and locals in the Chadian city of Amdjarass. This endeavor is coordinated in tandem with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The UAE humanitarian team has stepped up its efforts in recent times to alleviate the hardships faced by Sudanese refugees, considering the current turbulent circumstances in Sudan.
The distribution of aid was witnessed by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE humanitarian organizations, Governor Ishaq Malwa Jamus, Aboud Hashem Bedeir, Mayor of Amdjarass city, as well as representatives from charitable entities in Chad.
Dr. Ahmed Obeid Al Dhaheri, the Head of the UAE Red Crescent delegation in Chad, remarked that under the directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the country has been a forerunner in providing support to their Sudanese brethren. He also expressed gratitude to the Republic of Chad and its government for their contributions towards enabling humanitarian organizations to extend their aid. He reaffirmed the ongoing commitment to aid refugees, and the needy, and help alleviate their suffering.
