The Arab Parliament strongly condemned the heinous act committed by a number of settlers in southern Nablus, Palestine, of desecrating mosques, tearing and burning copies of the Holy Quran, and attacking citizens.
According to the Parliament’s official website, the international community was called upon to put an end to its silence on such crimes and to put an end to the occupation’s crimes against the Palestinian people and their holy sites.
The Parliament warned against the continuation of this racist approach in attacking holy sites, affirming that it would trigger a massive wave of anger against the occupation, which is steadily working to eliminate all means of reviving the peace process and the two-state solution, and perpetuating violence and hatred.
Violence erupted once again in the occupied West Bank as Israeli settlers carried out a destructive attack in the Palestinian village of Umm Safa, located north of Ramallah. Backed by the Israeli state, scores of armed settlers, accompanied by army and Border Guards Police, stormed the village, unleashing chaos and setting fire to houses and vehicles.
The attackers showed no restraint, firing indiscriminately at anything in their path, including homes, cars, and even an ambulance.
Tragically, a paramedic was injured by gunfire while attempting to transport a critically ill patient to a hospital. The incident highlights the grave consequences of the escalating violence orchestrated by Israeli settler militias.
The recent surge in attacks against Palestinians by these extremist groups across the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, has been alarming. Many attribute this surge to the permissive environment created by the far-right Israeli government.
