Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has officially announced his candidacy for the upcoming presidential election scheduled for September 7, as confirmed during his latest periodic meeting with the media.

In response to a question about his intention to run for a second term, President Tebboune stated, “In response to the wishes of many parties, organizations, and youth, I believe the time has come to announce that I will be running.”

The President added, “If the people decide to support me, I will gladly accept. If not, I have done my duty, or at least part of it.”

He also emphasized, “The victories we have achieved were the victories of the people.”

President Tebboune highlighted his plans to present a summary of his first term to the media. He noted that “both the public and private sectors acknowledge that the country’s revenues have increased and the hemorrhaging of the public treasury has ended.”

He also mentioned the recovery of billions of dollars in embezzled funds and expressed that citizens are now more satisfied with their rights being protected and fulfilling their duties joyfully as integral members of society.

This announcement sets the stage for a highly anticipated election, with President Tebboune seeking a renewed mandate to continue his leadership and reforms in Algeria.
