Algeria reduced its oil production by 20,000 barrels per day in August to reach 940,000 barrels per day, as part of the OPEC + alliance agreement.

Minister of Energy Mohamed Arkab expressed Algeria’s commitment to the agreement that has existed since last July, which requires reducing OPEC + production.

Arkab said Algeria supports the efforts of “OPEC +” to improve the conditions of the oil market, which suffers from great fluctuations.

The minister added that his country is counting on an increase in demand for oil in the coming months.

In like manner, the Saudi cabinet reaffirmed its commitment to bolstering the preventative efforts spearheaded by the OPEC+ group to stabilize the oil markets.

This includes an extension of the voluntary reduction, accounting for one million barrels per day, which was initiated last July and is now set to continue through September.

The council’s meeting highlighted Saudi Arabia’s dedication to addressing environmental challenges both regionally and globally. It aligns with growth, innovation, and the sustainable development goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
