Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, announced the resolution of the issue regarding the alleged expropriation of Algerian properties in Rabat. Attaf stated in a recent press conference that the case was closed following a decision made by Morocco in response to Algeria’s claims.
According to Attaf, the matter was raised by Moroccan officials, and Algeria provided a response that led to what they deemed an appropriate decision by Morocco, effectively ending the dispute.
Earlier, Algeria had accused Morocco of real estate expropriation, prompting a potential response from Algiers. The Algerian regime condemned Morocco’s actions as a violation of diplomatic norms and international law, emphasizing the sanctity of diplomatic representation.
The allegations arose after reports from Maghreb Intelligence suggested that Morocco planned to expropriate several properties and lands belonging to the Algerian state for expansion purposes.
However, a Moroccan diplomatic source refuted Algeria’s claims, clarifying that the embassy buildings and former Algerian embassy residence were not part of any expansion plans. The source specified that discussions only concerned an unused building adjacent to the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters.
