Algeria’s Minister of Youth and Sports Abdelrahman Hamad emphasized the country’s commitment to its youth and their role in shaping the future during a remote participation in the 78th Executive Bureau meeting of the Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports.
Hamad stated that under the leadership of President Abdelmajid Tebboune, Algeria has placed its youth at the forefront of its priorities, notably through the 2020 constitution, which aims to promote citizenship values, social cohesion, and youth engagement in politics.
In addition to institutional development, Algeria’s achievements include the establishment of the Higher Council for Youth, a significant milestone for the country’s youth.
Moreover, a national observatory for civil society has been created to support participatory democracy.
The minister highlighted that Algeria’s commitment to its youth goes beyond facilitating their political engagement.
The country has introduced a national youth plan that aims to provide optimal support for this demographic, enabling them to actively participate in shaping the nation’s future amidst the evolving dynamics of the country.
Hamad reiterated Tebboune’s dedication to providing incentives for ambitious and aspiring youth to venture into the world of entrepreneurship and business, trusting in their high qualifications and proficiency in modern technologies.
The Algerian president has also established a grant for unemployment benefits, aimed at supporting young people, along with taking measures to ease the establishment of various economic enterprises in various fields.
