Sudan Sovereign Council Chairman Abdel Fattah al-Burhan is set to head his country’s delegation at the Russia-Africa summit, the Sudanese embassy in Moscow told TASS.

“We confirm that work is underway on preparing a visit by Sudan Sovereign Council Head General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan as part of the Russia-Africa summit,” the diplomatic mission said.

The statement added that interaction with Moscow will continue in spite of any circumstances.

“The Russian Federation is our strategic partner. No events can damage our relations with Russia,” it said.

The second Russia-Africa summit and economic forum are scheduled to take place in St. Petersburg during 27-28 July.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov recently announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin will participate in the Russia-Africa forum and summit.

Peskov said: “We expect a highly representative summit with quite a busy agenda and numerous events on the sidelines of it.”

It is worth noting that the first event was held in Sochi on October 22-24, 2019 under the motto: “For Peace, Security and Development.”
