West Ham United, a Premier League football club, announced today, Tuesday, the signing of defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United on a seven-year contract.
West Ham did not disclose the financial details of the deal, but British media reported that the transfer is valued at around £15 million ($19.19 million).
West Ham stated in an official announcement, “The 26-year-old right-back will join from Manchester United on a seven-year contract.”
Wan-Bissaka played 190 matches for Manchester United over five seasons. He told his new club’s website, “I didn’t think much about moving to West Ham, and I’m excited and happy to be here.” He added, “It’s great to be back in London, and I’m excited for what’s to come. I was born here, and I know London well, so returning to play in the city means a lot to me.”
He continued, “I’m grateful for the warm welcome and eager to give my all for the club.”
Wan-Bissaka’s departure from Manchester United paves the way for the club to complete their signing of Moroccan defender Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.
