In a significant move towards promoting stability and diplomacy in Africa, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a phone call with his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, to coordinate efforts aimed at ending the conflict in Sudan.

The discussion also encompassed extending support for the United Nations Special Representative for Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, in his endeavors to facilitate successful elections in Libya.

The US State Department, in an official statement, revealed that the two ministers deliberated on several critical matters concerning the region.

One of the focal points was the pressing need to resolve the ongoing conflict in Sudan, which has caused significant humanitarian crises and instability.
